The Story Wall brings mobile technology to creative writing to get more young people telling their stories.
If it’s easier to be creative outside the classroom, then write on the school bus or in bed, and when you can’t think of what should happen next, ask other story writers to help you out!
The app was created by Joe, Teigan and Emma, students at Cockburn School in Leeds, who felt that lots of young people found creative writing difficult and gave up when they got stuck. With the help of their IT and English teachers, they came up with the idea for The Story Wall.

FEATURES
· 1500 word limit on stories to make writing less daunting
· “What happens next?” button invites other story writers to help you out
· Word countdown that lets you know when you need to start thinking about the ending
· Great for schools to help promote story writing and improve literacy

The Story Wall was developed as part of the Apps for Good programme and won the “Connected Communities – using technology to unite interests, ideas and good causes” category sponsored by TalkTalk at the Apps for Good Awards 2013, the national app competition for young people across the UK. As an Apps for Good Award winner, the team worked with development agency Quickblox to have their app prototype built professionally and publicly launched, with the support of Apps for Good and TalkTalk.

Apps for Good is an education movement where young people learn to create apps that change the world. Apps for Good partners with educators across the UK to deliver its course to young people 10-18 years of age.
